SRAM Force Road Brakes Calipers Brakeset FREE Shipping to all U.S. Locations The Force brake calipers are built around a dual-pivot mechanism with a stout return spring that serves you well in two ways: Not only does it provide excellent power for hard stops, but it does so without feeling grabby. In other words you'll still feel subtle control for precise speed modulation. And SRAM's pad compound was developed to provide superior braking not just in dry conditions, but in the wet as well. These brakes function and feel superb -- that much is obvious after a quick test ride. But what the SRAM engineers speak most proudly about is the pad compound itself and stopping power it provides in any conditions.
Thanks to what SRAM refers to as the caliper's "skeletonized" design, the overall weight of the brakeset is nearly 10% lighter than Dura-Ace. Substantial material is machined out of the upper arm of the caliper to accomplish this weight savings, and it comes without causing the calipers to flex in the least. The main pivot bolt and all of the hardware are made from titanium to shave away even more weight. The warm gray finish perfectly complements the appearance of the other alloy bits in the Force gruppo.
